The Role

The Software Engineer (UI) for Clearleap is part of a collaborative customer requirements based team effort and develops software components for video management, processing and delivery to multiple TV platforms.  The role involves defining, developing, operating and maintaining high volume online video streaming systems that allow people to watch premium television shows and movies online.  This role will be largely focused on front end development, but may also include development / augmentation of the RESTful APIs in Java with which the front end application will communicate.

Experience / Skills Required

2yrs - Experience developing Single Page Apps using one of the following frameworks: Angular, Angular2 or EmberJS
2yrs - Experience using Responsive Grid Systems (Bootstrap, etc.)
2yrs - Experience writing JS modules, (AMD, CommonJS, ES6 Modules)
2yrs - Experience using modern build tools like, Grunt, Gulp, Webpack or Broccoli
2yrs - Experience in HTML, CSS, SASS/LESS, Javascript, jQuery library
2yrs - Experience with UX/UI design patterns

Additional Preffered Skills and Experience
  • Experience designing, implementing deploying and maintaining enterprise level distributed systems
  • Experience in Java 1.6 or above.  Certifications preferred
  • 2yrs - experience with Groovy / Grails application development
  • Experience using HTML5 Video API
  • Experience using RESTful web services
  • Experience using front-end frameworks like Bootstrap
  • Experience using Object-Oriented JavaScript and best practices
  • Experience with JS dependency management
  • Experience with JS template engines like Mustache or Handlebars
  • Experience building custom ajax request with error handling
  • Working with JSON and XML
  • Experience working in a backend MVC framework
  • Familiar with ES2015/ES6 features
  • Familiar with useful libraries like underscore, modernizr, etc.
  • Familiar with BEM (Block, Element, Modifier)
  • Unit Testing with Jasmine or Mocha
  • Testing using CasperJS
  • Photoshop
  • NodeJS
