Named “Approved Provider” by NCTC for Authentication Services
Duluth, Ga. — July 19, 2012 —Clearleap, the leading provider of IP-based video solutions for the television industry, today announced the availability of its ClearPlay Authentication service. The new managed service transparently authorizes and authenticates subscribers on major content provider portals, allowing service providers to rapidly enable TV Everywhere.
ClearPlay Authentication is now integrated with Adobe Pass, a leading authentication solution supporting approximately 90 percent of all US pay TV households, offering subscribers the flexibility of a single, persistent login as they travel from site to site across the Internet or other content portals. Adobe Pass supports a number of popular networks including NBCU, CNN, TBS, TNT, tru TV, and Cartoon Network. Clearleap’s system is also integrated to provide authentication services for HBO GO and MAX GO.
In addition, the National Cable Television Cooperative, an organization that provides member cable companies access to programming networks and industry leading technology companies and products, has named Clearleap an Approved Provider for authentication services. Independent cable operators now have access to the same Clearleap authentication platform used by larger organizations, at NCTC negotiated prices.
“The NCTC is always looking for partners that can provide simple solutions for our members while acting as thought leaders in our industry, and Clearleap offers our members another strong choice for getting into the TV Everywhere service,” said Rich Fickle, NCTC CEO & President. “Not only does Clearleap make it easy for NCTC members to authorize and authenticate their subscribers on major content provider portals, Clearleap enables service providers to easily add on complete streaming solutions and offer their own, custom branded experiences on connected devices, tablets, and PCs.”
“ClearPlay authentication ensures subscribers can access the content they crave, at any time, on their choice of device, anywhere,” said Clearleap CEO Braxton Jarratt. “Service providers will find it easy and quick to deploy, helping meet their customers’ demands while staying on top of programming and licensing issues.”
ClearPlay authentication services are designed to simplify and reduce the costs normally associated with delivering a compelling, personal ‘any screen’ experience to a home television subscriber. Clearleap offers flexible options to authenticate subscribers—under a content provider or operator-branded experience—and can plug into any authentication system. In addition, using a cloud-based infrastructure, Clearleap can provide IP delivery to any device. Clearleap’s flexible, affordable licensing model is based on activated subscribers and does not require revenue splits or a large upfront integration.
