Clearleap unveils its multiscreen content initiative for the Latin American pay-TV market

Miami, Florida, August 5, 2014 – Clearleap, the leading provider of multiscreen video logistics for the broadcasting and pay-TV industry, will be at SET EXPO in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 24-27 August 2014, to present its powerful multiscreen content platform to the Latin American pay-TV market. With its thriving pay-TV market and viewers increasingly turning to mobile devices to view video, Clearleap has identified LATAM as a key market for ongoing growth.

Today’s soaring demand for instantly accessible, high-quality content poses a logistical challenge for content providers and pay-TV operators across the world. As Brazil’s leading broadcast and new media technology event, SET EXPO is the perfect stage for Clearleap to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to driving efficient video management and enabling TV everywhere experiences across the LATAM region. During the show, Tom McCarthy, VP of Sales, LATAM, Clearleap, will be speaking on the panel “New multiscreen business opportunities and collapsing cost structures for the media industry”, alongside Mark Ramberg, General Manager and Media, Amazon and Polo Aristoy, Senior Vice President, DirecTV LATAM. The panel will take place at 12:15 on Sunday 24th August.

Clearleap’s innovative multiscreen platform enables customers to transition gracefully from traditional delivery to IP-streaming, ensuring multiscreen expectations are met. The platform’s two components, Clearflow and Clearplay, act together to unify and simplify the complex processes of workflow management, multiscreen video processing and metadata management, all whilst maximizing monetization opportunities.

“It’s clear to the industry that this is an exciting time in the Latin American market, and we are witnessing tangible results in the region in terms of TV everywhere deployments and multiscreen TV services,” said Tom McCarthy, VP of Sales, LATAM. “The LATAM content delivery market is going through a period of huge change. To be at the forefront of this, we must be able to offer next generation multi-screen television services that surpass consumer expectations while keeping costs down when scaling with the market’s growth. The Clearleap platform truly meets the specific needs of the Latin American market by delivering a flexible, cost-effective solution”.

Clearleap has seen great success in the US and EMEA, accelerating the multiscreen strategies of major pay-TV players such as HBO, Verizon, Time Warner Cable and MultiChoice. In May this year the company announced its expansion into Latin America, having opened regional headquarters in Brickell, Miami.

Tom McCarthy will also be giving a case study presentation of what the company has discovered when moving into new markets. Language and cultural barriers, content preferences, infrastructural characteristics, and legal and technical hurdles are all aspects that differentiate the TV everywhere opportunity in Latin America to America and Europe, and McCarthy will be sharing these first-hand insights with the audience at SET Expo on Monday 25th August at 15:00.

“Following our recent expansion into Latin America, Clearleap is now better placed than ever before to enrich TV everywhere experiences for consumers in the region, which has one of the world’s fastest growing pay-TV economies,” said Bob Van Orden, VP and General Manager, International, Clearleap. “SET EXPO 2014 is the ideal forum for us to discuss and present our unique offering, and we are excited to be making our regional debut at the show.”
