The IBM Cloud Video Unit is unveiling some new tech. Its new services, which will be integrated with the IBM cognitive supercomputer Watson, are geared toward digital video. According to IBM, the new integrations will allow users to automatically segment videos into shorter clips based on “meaningful concepts”; provide instant frame-by-frame audience reactions to live-streamed content by analyzing social media channels; and improve search-and-discovery for viewers by “identifying new content based on related interests for targeted audience groups.” The new technologies are being piloted by IBM’s R&D unit.
